Obituary
A. N. Amble Rites Friday
Funeral services for Arthur N. Amble, 76, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in United Church of Christ, Wahpeton, with the Rev. Wm. Dreyer officiating. Amble, a teacher in Wahpeton for about 20 years, died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Vertin's-Wahpeton east chapel. Mr. Amble was born in Wisconsin, April 22, 1893. He attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis and was a graduate of the state college at Minot. He taught school in the Minot area and also at Dwight where he operated land company, before teaching in Wahpeton. He also served as Justice of Peace in Wahpeton for several years.
He was active in work of the Masonic Lodge, serving as its past master and secretary and was a member of Order of Eastern Star. He joined the Masonie lodge at Ray, N. D., on May 3, 1922.
Masonic rites will be conducted by Wahpeton lodge No. 15. Pallbearers will be lodge members, namely Ray Nermoe, Henry Knight, Carl Gauslow, Roy Wade, Darwin Johnson and Benj. Gorder.
His first wife, Allie Dokstader, died in 1958. He married Edna Kjos in 1961, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Harriet Swanke, in Juneau, Alaska; one grand- daughter; a stepson, Kenneth Kjos, San Gabriel, Calif.; two brothers, Chester of New York and Phillip of Wheeler, Wis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jenny Amble, and two brothers, Thomas and Richard.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
