Funeral Services Set Saturday For Mrs. Amble
Mrs. A. N. (Allie May) Amble a former school teacher here until her retirement in 1953 died Wednesday in her home in this city after a prolonged illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., in Vertin Funeral Home chapel. Rev. P. A. Gisvold will officiate, assisted by Rev. T. C. Hanson of Breckenridge. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery with Vertin Funeral home of Wahpeton handling arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening and until time for the service on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Andy Gauslow, Elroy Wegener, E. E Knight and Vernon Hektner. She was born at Otranto, Ia., daughter of Walter and Anna Doestader. She grew to young womanhood and attended school in the community and attended teachers college at Cedar Falls. She taught school in Iowa for several years. She later came to North Dakota to attend Minor State Teachers College and after completing her studies taught school in several North Dakota communities including Hanks, Williston, Streeter and Wahpeton. She and Mr. Amble were united in marriage June 30 1919 at St. Ansgar, Iowa.
They lived in several places in North Dakota before coming to Dwight from Williston in 1931. They moved to Wahpeton in 1942.
Mrs. Amble was a member of Bethel Lutheran church, Eastern Star, and the Fortnightly club.
Surviving besides her husband are: a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Harriet) Swanke of Popular, Mont., two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Putnam of Garnet Kan., and Mr. Mahlom Holcum of Forrest City, Iowa; three brothers, Dr. W. L. Dockstader of St. Ansgar, Harry of Otranto and Dr. Hall Dockstader of Los Angeles, Calif.
