Obituary
George Anderson, Longtime Breckenridge Resident, Dies
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Wahpeton for George Anderson, 87, of Breckenridge who died Wednesday at Henning, Minn. The Rev. Harold S. Jones officiated and interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton.
Mr. Anderson was born May 4, 1887 in Breckenridge. He was raised in that community and in 1902 began working for the Great Northern Railway as Call Boy. Later he learned the machinist trade and worked in the Great Northern Roundhouse. When he retired in 1955, he had over 50 years working for the railroad.
He was married to Jane Morley at Wahpeton Oct. 9, 1912. The couple made their home in Breckenridge. Mrs. Anderson preceded him in death in 1945 and he continued to make Breckenridge his home.
Mr. Anderson was a life time member of Eastern Star, Masons and Shriners. He was also a member of Aad Temple of Duluth and York Rite.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Georgia) Nelson of Clitherall, Minn., Mrs. Berton (Jeannette) Braley of Adelph, Md., and Mrs. E. M. (Ruth) Thielman of Breckenridge; four grandchildren; two brothers Morris and Percy Anderson of Breckenridge; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Radeke of Breckenridge and Mrs. Lud (Mabel) Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif.
Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home of Breckenridge was in charge of arrangements.
