Obituary

Oscar Anderson Dies Wednesday

Oscar Anderson of Wahpeton died Wednesday morning at Ottertail Nursing Home of Ottertail Lake, Minn.

Funeral services will be held Friday t 7:30 p.m. at Vertin’s Wahpeton Chapel, Intern Donald Fossum officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Born in Modum Norway, Oct. 4, 1884, Mr. Anderson came to Wahpeton from Norway in 1902. He returned to Norway in 1907 and moved back to Wahpeton in 1912.

He married Andrine Christensen, Oct. 3, 1912, at Wahpeton. They lived here since 1912. Mr. Anderson was employed by Leach and Gamble Wholesale Grocery for 41 years. He retired in 1953 and continued to live in Wahpeton. He was member of Bethel Lutheran church since 1913.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Alfred of Wahpeton, and Carl G. of Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Mae) Maloney of Calver City, Calif; nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son in infancy and one son Arthur who died in WW II four brothers and one sister.

Mrs. James Horton will be organist and vocalist will be James Horton.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Lee, Floyd Swenson, Glen Ista, Art Paulsrud, Ed Were and Gordon Patterson.
