Obituary
H. Anderson, Long In City, Dies Thursday
Hovmand Anderson, 71, resident of this city for more than half a century, died Monday morning at 8:40 o’clock at the St. Francis hospital in Breckenridge where he had been taken last Friday.
He was born in Denmark and came to the United States when a lad of 12 years old. He came to Wahpeton five years later and went to work for the Northern Pacific railroad. He worked as a section hand and for several years was foreman at the NP roundhouse here. He retired from the railroad six years ago.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Agnes Keim, rural Wahpeton, a son Herbert, of this city; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His wife died in 1947. Funeral services have been set for Thursday at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church here.
Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home from Wednesday until the time of the funeral. Schmitt and Olson Funeral Home of this city is in charge of the arrangements.
