Obituary

P.O. Augustine Dies Suddenly at Local Hospital

Funeral Service to be conducted On Tuesday from Methodist Church: Burial to be Here

Perry O. Augustine, for many years a prominent livestock buyer in Wahpeton and Breckenridge, and more recently employed by the Nelson Motors s an automobile salesman, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Wahpeton hospital following an operation. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon from thee Methodist church here with Mrs. Hattie LaGrone, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery here. Services from the home will be at two o’clock p.m. and the church at 2:30 p.m.

P.O. Augustine was born March 15, 1883, at Cairo, Ill and moved with his mother to Stoningtone, Ill., seven years later, after the death of his father, G.P. Augustine. He grew to manhood there and on December 27, 1906, was united in marriage with Elsie Capes at Dixon, Ill.

The Augustine family came by Wahpeton from Grand Forks, N., seven years ago and have since made their home here. P.O. Augustine is survived by his wife, two children, Mrs. Arthur (Mildred) Miller of Crookston, Minn, and E.E. Baker, is still living at Stonington, Ill. His mother, Verne at home. Three sisters and one brother also survive. They are Mrs. John Smith and Mrs. W. A Bradley, of Stoningtone, and Mrs. Frank English and George Augustine at Greenville, Ill.

P.O. Augustine was an active member of the Methodist church here and was widely acquainted all over this territory. His sudden death is a great shock to the community.
