Elwood Anderson Found Dead near Dwight
Elwood Anderson, 38, a Dwight farm worker, was found dead in his car near Dwight early Wednesday morning. He died of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Vertin’s Wahpeton Chapel. Visitation will be this afternoon (Thursday) and evening and until the time of service on Friday at Vertin’s Chapel.
Surviving are three daughters; his mother, Mrs. Cleo Anderson of Wahpeton; three sisters Mrs. Earl (Elaine) Wold of Dwight, Miss DeLoris Anderson of Wahpeton and Mrs. Thomas (Mavis) Morgan of Hope, N.D; three brothers, Donald of Howard Lake, Minn., Harry Jr., and Dwight both Wahpeton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Anderson on March 30, 1962.
Funeral Held Friday Here For Elwood Anderson
Funeral services for Elwood Anderson, 38, of Dwight, were held Friday at Vertin’s Wahpeton Funeral Chapel. Gilbert Reese and Dean Swenson officiating. Interment was in Christus Gardens.
He was born at Dwight Feb. 2, 1928 attended Dwight schools and entered the Army Air Force May 1946. He later enlisted in the Navy in 1949 and served on a submarine. He was given a medical discharge after a submarine disaster off the coast of Connecticut. He was later rescued from the sunken submarine.
He was married to Lorene Jacobson in January, 1950. He resided in the Dwight community.
