Albert Arnold
WAHPETON - Albert F. Arnold, 83, of Wahpeton died Sunday in St. Francis Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 Wednesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:30 at Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel and Wednesday at the church prior to services.
Casket bearers will be Ernest Hubris, Paul Shasky, Leonard Tischer, George Motis, Elroy Stein and Harry Gustman.
Mr. Arnold was born Feb. 10, 1890, in Germany where he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended school in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 14 with a brother to York, Neb. Four years later he moved to Westbrook, Minn. He married Minnie Noding Jan. 30, 1916, at Westbrook. The couple moved to Great Bend in 1918 where they farmed. They moved into Wahpeton in 1947. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; one son and two daughters, Alfred of Fairmount, Mrs. Duane (Lucille) Norem and Mrs. Vernon (Jean) Bakken, both of Wahpeton; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Henry, of Walnut Grove, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harvey, in 1946, an infant daughter, Esther; a great-grandson; and four brothers and four sisters in Germany.
