Obituary
Henning Anderson
Funeral services for Henning Anderson, 83, 115 3rd Ave. N., Wahpeton, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens here.
Mr. Anderson died Sunday at the Ottertail Lake cottage of his daughter.
Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday until the time of services at Vertin's Wahpeton Chapel.
Mr. Anderson was born March 1, 1892, at Wahpeton, the son of Gustav and Matilda (Benson) Anderson. He was reared here and attended the local schools. He also attended the North Dakota State School of Science here and a mechanics school at Minneapolis, Minn.
He worked as a telegrapher for railroad depots in the area.
Mr. Anderson served during World War I in Europe and on June 5, 1917, married Hilma Olson at Minneapolis, Minn. The couple farmed near Barney for 56 years, beginning in 1919.
For the past two years, Mr. Anderson has lived with his daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Vera) Hammond in Wahpeton.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hammond and Mrs. Donald (Ramona) Schend, 411 5th St. N., Wahpeton; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Olga. (Vertin's Wahpeton)
