Obituary
Hilma Anderson
Funeral services for Hilma (Mrs. Henning) Anderson, 84, of Barney, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Vertin's Wahpeton chapel, with Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Mrs. Anderson died Monday night en route to St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until the service at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 14, 1889, at Njuranda, Sweden, to Ole and Karen (Nylander) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in Sweden, then came to Seattle when she was 18.
She later moved to Minneapolis, where she married Henning G. Anderson June 5, 1917. The couple lived in Minneapolis before coming to farm in Homestead Township, rural Barney, in 1919.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Vera (Mrs. Floyd) Hammond and Ramona (Mrs. Donald) Schend, both of Wahpeton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother Gust of Rhinelander, Wisc.; and two brothers and two sisters in Sweden - Evar, Pella, Mrs. Linda Soderberg, and Marta. She was preceded by a brother Nels in 1970.
