Emma Brinkman

Funeral services for Emma (Mrs. John P.) Brinkman, 83, of Wahpeton, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Brinkman died Wednesday at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.

Special music for the funeral will be provided by Immanuel Ladies Choir, and organist will be Janel Rutter.

Casket bearers are Wilhelm Mueller, Walter Moore, Gilbert Koppelman, Nolan Osborn, Walter Wiebusch, and Lester Berg.

Visitation is Friday, with an 8 p.m. prayer service, and Saturday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton, and at the church 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Brinkman was born Jan. 7, 1890, in Germany to Peter and Anna (Oelkers) Boehrs. She attended local schools and was baptized and confirmed in Germany. She married John Brinkman April 20, 1913, in Germany.

They came to to Minot and in 1929 moved to Great Bend, where they farmed. They later farmed at Abercrombie before moving to Wahpeton in 1950. Mr. Brinkman died May 17, 1966. Mrs. Brinkman has lived at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center the past four years. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran.

Survivors are a daughter, Gerda (Mrs. Elroy) Burg, Wahpeton, and a granddaughter, Joanne Burg, Hershey, Penn. She was preceded by a sister and four brothers.
