Obituary
Mrs. G. Barton, 84, Breckenridge, Dies Sunday
Mrs. Guy (Florence) Barton, 84, Breckenridge, longtime resident of Wilkin County, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Breckenridge Methodist church. Rev. Earl Toy officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday until time of services at Jos. Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.
Mrs. Barton was born March 5, 1879, at Hagerstown, Md. And grew to young womanhood there. When she was 18 years old she went to Grundy Center, Iowa, to live with an uncle.
She was married to Guy C. Barton Oct. 7, 1899 at Grundy Center. They lived at Grundy Center until 1905 when they moved to Minnesota and settled on a farm near Breckenridge. The past 26 years they made their home at Breckenridge. For the past year and a half, Mrs. Barton was a resident of the St. Francis home, Breckenridge. She was a member of the Breckenridge Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Atlee Barton, Breckenridge; 43 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A brother, Harry Longnecker, Rolling Prairie Ind., and a sister Mrs. T. A Spiegler, Hagerstown also survive.
Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, Guy, and three sons, Earl, Glenn and Ray.
