Meta Beach
BATTLE LAKE, MINN. - Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, for Mrs. Stanley (Meta) Beach, 70, rural Battle Lake, formerly of Wahpeton, who died here on Friday.
Rev. Ernest Bartels will officiate with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. Visitation is at Vertin's of Wahpeton Chapel Monday afternoon and evening. There is a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. There is visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers are George Soltis, Dennis Boumont, Paul Dietz, Solon Hill, Harry Grinager, and Harold Lenzmeier.
Meta Fuss was born May 19, 1907 to Frederick and Bertha (Lehwold) Fuss at Audubon, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Henning, Minn., and later to Gwinner, N.D. She attended schools at Gwinner, and later moved to Wahpeton where she was employed as a cook at the Wahpeton Hospital.
She married Stanley Beach on April 17, 1931 at Wahpeton. After her marriage she worked at Wahpeton Pottery. In 1931, they retired and moved to Deer Lake, near here.
Mrs. Beach was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and the Wahpeton VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, a son, Stanley, Jr., Conde, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Kent (Donna) Heaton, Oregon City, Ore., Mrs. Terry (Marilyn) Douglass, Cost Mesa, Calif.; three brothers, Hugo, Gwinner, N.D., Walter, Montana, and William, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Rose) Pietz, Pillager, Minn., Mrs. William (Lena) Brunkhorst, Albambra, Calif., Mrs. Dorothy Carlson, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
