Obituary
Funeral Services Conducted Here for Mrs. Beach
Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon in Vertin Funeral Home chapel for Mrs. Robert W. (Alice Eunice) Beach, 76, resident of this area many years. Mrs. Beach died Friday at Bemidji, Minn., where she had lived in recent years.
Rev Walter Elmer officiated at the service with Vertin Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Lyle Jacobson sang and Mrs. Fred Brown played the organ. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Grinager, Wallace Monden, John J. Dietz, George Ruddy, Calvin Carlson and William Braun.
Born Dec. 1, 1882, at New Amsterdam Ia., she attended schools and grow to womanhood in that area. She also taught school in Iowa for several years prior to her marriage to Mr. Beach Aug. 5, 1893, at Belmont, Ia.
The couple lived in Iowa for 10 years before coming to a farm near Kent in 1903. They farmed north of Wahpeton from 1912 to 1933 when they moved to a farm near Rothsay.
Mr. Bech died in 1951 and since then she had lived in Bemidji.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Wahpeton.
Surviving are two sons, Francis of Breckenridge and Stanley of Wahpeton; Three daughters, Mrs. June Dahlgren of Bemidji, Mrs. Sam (Wayne) Smith of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Mrs. Margaret Haug of Minneapolis, two sisters, Mrs. E. V. Skinner of Corry, Pa., and Mrs. Pat Shenrin of Hibbing, Minn.; a brother, Lee Stacy of Hampton, Iowa: 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A daughter Vera Swanson preceded her in death.
