Obituary
Funeral Today For Francis Beach, 68, Of Breckenridge
Funeral services were held today (Thursday) from the Breckenridge Lutheran Church for Francis S. Beach, 68, retired railroad engineer, who died Monday at his home in Breckenridge.
Rev. R. D. Mellum will be officiating clergyman. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Mr. Beach was born May 1, 1894, Dows, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Kent at the age of nine.
He married Clara Mikkelson at Breckenridge April 20, 1922. He was with the Great Northern Railway for nearly 50 years and was a member of the Great Northern Veterans Association and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ansle (Phyllis) Bridgeford, East Grand Forks, Minn., a brother, Stanley, Wahpeton and three grandsons. Three sisters, Mrs. June Dahlgren, Bemiji, Minn., Mrs. Margaret Houg, Minneapolis and Mrs. Waiva Smith, Ft. Thomas, Ky also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Active pallbearers wer John Trump, Joe Neiber, Donald Foster, Leslie Aldrich, Hollis Krier and Ire Klinger. Honorary pallbearers were William Karst, Fred Drier, Merle Needham, Algot Mollberg, A. B. Wegener, Fred Schear, Howard Morris and William Fay. Jos. Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, was in charge of arrangements.
