Obituary
Jens Berg, 78, Wahpeton, Dies; Rites Set Friday
Jens Berg, 78, longtime resident of this area, died Tuesday at his home in Wahpeton. Mr. Berg had been in ill health since January
Funeral services will be held from Bethel Lutheran church, Wahpeton, Friday at 2 p.m., Rev. Loyal E. Golf officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery.
Jens Berg was born Oct. 21, 1885, in Norway, the son of Severin and Marie Berg. He came with his parents to the United States to Henning, Minn., when he was six years old. He grew to manhood there.
No. 27, 1910, he married Mabel Wilson at Henning. They lived there until 1921 when they moved to Wyndmere where Mr. Berg worked for the Soo Line railroad.
Later they lived at McLeod and Walcott before moving to Wahpeton in 1943.
Surviving are his wife, four sons, Joseph, McLeod; Clinton, Bath, S.D.; Gene Shreveport, La. And Leo, Bath; three daughters, Mrs. Bert (Alice) Patch, Mizpah, Minn.; Mrs. Iver (Myrtle)) Hagen, Wahpeton and Mrs. John (Imogene) Carter, Braham, Minn.; 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Olaf, St. Cloud, Minn.; Richard and Harry, both of New York Mills.; also survive
Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
