Obituary
Mabel Berg, 72, Dies; Rites Held at Bethel
Mrs. Jens (Mabel) Berg, 72, Wahpeton, died Friday at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.
Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiated at funeral services held this afternoon (Monday) at Bethel Lutheran Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Berg was born May 12, 1894 at Henning, Minn., where she attended schools. She was married to Jens Berg Nov 27, 1910 at Henning.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters, Joseph, McLeod; Clinton, Amherst, S.D., Gene, Shreveport, La.; Leo, Leonard; Mrs. Bert (Alice) Paten, Mizpah, Minn.; Mrs. Iver (Myrtle) Hagen of Wahpeton and Mrs. John (Imogene) Carter of Barnham Minn.; 54 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
There also are one brother, Lawrence in Oregon and three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Grace) Hyatt. Mrs Iver (Bertha) Syverson and Mrs. Bessie Witlett all of North Plains, Ore.
Mrs. Vernon Hektner was organist and Lyle Jacobson vocalist. Vertin’s Wahpeton was in charge of arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers were Clyde Olson, Ed Ferguson, Elmer DeVries, Martin Pankow, Richard Gast and Stanley Johnson.
