Obituary
Herman A. Boettcher was born March 27, 1875, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a life-long member of the Lutheran church. Though not one of the charter members, yet was one of the first to join Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wahpeton after its organization in 1909.
Mr. Boettcher was married to Mrs. Ottilie Radtke in 1900, who survives him. In 1900 Mr. Boettcher settled in the vicinity of Wahpeton, and since 1911 together with his family made his home in Wahpeton.
Mr. Boettcher took ill on August 7th and was taken to St. Francis hospital on August 9th. He died on Monday, August 29th, his death being due to a cerebral hemorrhage. His age at the time of his death was 70 years and 5 months. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, two sons, Ervin and Ewald, two step-sons John and Chas. Radtke, three step-daughters, Mrs. H. Worner, Mrs. Adolf Schroeder and Mrs. Henry Jacobchick, one brother, Otto; three sisters, Mrs. Simon, Mrs. Walter Chapman, Mrs. Alma Howey.
Funeral services were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, August 24th, with the Rev. John Dreyer officiating.
