Obituary
Mrs. Fred Brown Dies in Arizona
Mrs. Fred D. Brown, 74, of Tucson, Ariz., died unexpectedly at her residence early Sunday. Mrs. Brown was a long time Wahpeton resident, having moved to Tucson a year ago.
Funeral services will be held in the United Methodist Church in Wahpeton with the Rev. Stanley Muehler officiating at a time to be set. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens at Wahpeton. Vertin’s Wahpeton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Blanche Fowler was born May 28, 1895, at Indianola, Iowa, the daughter of Grant and Orena Fowler. She moved with her parents to Staples, Minn., in 1902. She married Fred D. Brown there on March 4, 1914. They moved to Wahpeton following their marriage and in 1933 founded Brown’s Reliable Cleaners. Mrs. Brown attended the Wahpeton Conservatory of Music and taught music for many years. She was member of the United Methodist Church in Wahpeton and has served on the church board and other church organizations. She was the church organist for over 40 years, and also the pianist for the Wahpeton Rotary Club for many years. Mr. Brown died Dec. 6, 1963, and she continued to reside in Wahpeton until last year when she moved to Tucson.
She is survived by one brother, Berthold Fowler of Ortonville, Minn., one nephew and two nieces.
