Mrs. J Bofamy Funeral Friday
Mrs. Joseph (Amanda) Bofamy, 72, long-time resident of Wahpeton, died Monday at Jamestown. Funeral services were held Friday in Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel with the Rev. Edward Rutter officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Amanda Oechsle was born June 27, 1898 at Fergus Falls, the daughter of Jacob and Martha (Nahlert) Oeschcle. She attended business college at Fergus Falls and Mankato, Minn. She came to Wahpeton to work in the telegraph office and married in Wahpeton in 1919. Mr. Bofamy operated a garage in Wahpeton. He died in 1952 in Florida.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Milfred (Mabel) McCall of Solfo Springs, Fla., Mrs. Aubrey (Grace) Hamilton of Hendersonville, N.C., Mrs. Pershing (Donna) Schifflett, District Heights, Md., Mrs. Melvyn (Josephine) Glover of Pasadena, Md.; a brother and sister, Herman Heartsick and Mrs. Elsie Rosengren both of Fergus Falls; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Orman was killed in 1945 in World War II, and an infant daughter.
