Obituary
Carl Brueske Rites Friday In Wahpeton
Funeral services for Carl A. Brueske of Spokane, who died Sunday there, will be held at Schmitt and Poulton Funeral Home Friday at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. B. B. Curtis officiating and interment will be beside his wife in Fairview Cemetery. The body arrived in Wahpeton Wednesday afternoon from the west. Carl Brueske was born January 13, 1872 in Germany. He came to the United States at the age of six, coming to Waseca, Minn. He farmed there after growing to manhood and on March 7, 1899, was united in marriage to Mary Louise Gebhart. They farmed there, then moved to Fergus Falls in 1918, where he was employed as a grower in the Fergus Falls Greenhouse.
In 1924, they came to Wahpeton where Mr. Brueske was employed by the Osen greenhouse. He retired in 1940. He did odd jobs in the park mostly as supervisor of shrubs and flowers. His wife died January 23, 1949. He then moved to Spokane where his daughter, Beatrice lives.
He is survived by two sons, Hugo; of Minneapolis Benj, of Milwaukee, Ore., and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Beatrice), Kinne, of Spokane. There are two sisters, Mrs. Lena Brekke and Mrs. Anna Wynculff, of Milner, Minn. There are eight grandchildren.
