ONE OF FIRST SETTLERS HENRY F. BULL DEAD Resident Of Richland County Since 1874 – Homesteaded Here In Early Days

Henry F. Bull, a well known resident of this city, passed away at his residence, 14 Wisconsin Ave., about 6:30 P. M., Monday, May 12th after an illness of about two months. About that long ago Mr. Bull suffered an attack of pneumonia from which he apparently had recovered, but from that time on he went into a decline which resulted in his death.

Henry F. Bull was born in Germany on Sept. 21, 1844. He came to America in 1869. In 1874 he located on a homestead in Richland county, near Fairmount. In 1902 he was married to Mrs. Caroline Wegener, and the same year they moved to Wahpeton, where they have made their home ever since. Mr. Bull gave up active farming in 1898, but continued to look after his farming interests up to the time of his death. He was a resident of Richland county for forty-five years coming here from Lake City, Minn., when Breckenridge and Wahpeton were in their infancy. He made a success of farming from the start, and soon acquired other farm lands in the vicinity of Great Bend, and thereafter moved to that locality, where he resided until retiring and coming to Wahpeton. Mr. Bull was a member of the German Lutheran church. The funeral service is to be held at 2 o’clock, followed by services at the German Lutheran church. Rev. Herman of Fergus Falls will conduct the services. Messrs. Zarling, Drier, Keuter, Wegener, Sedler and Young will act as pall bearers. Deceased is survived by a brother, John Bull of Fairmount; and children as follows: Aug. Wegener and Mrs. H. D. Lord, Wahpeton; Mrs. F. P. Daily, Breckenridge; Mrs. P. Koppe, Fergus Falls; Mrs. H. H. Meyers, Prince Albert, Sask., Can.
