Obituary
Mrs. Bute, 81, Rites Monday
Mrs. Millie, Bute, 81, mother of Earl Bute, athletic director at the State School of Science here, died Saturday at St Francis hospital where she had been a patient three days. She had lived here since 1924.
Born Feb. 23, 1873, at Grand Ridge, Ill., she grew up and spent her youth in that community. She married Taylor Bute March 15, 1894 and in 1911 they moved to Doran where they lived until retiring and moving to Wahpeton in 1924. Mr. Bute died in 1947.
Other survivors included three other sons, Lester of Doran, Kenneth of Silver Springs, Md., and, Gordon of Waukegan, Ill., seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
Funeral service was held here Monday from Vertin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Maurice Otterson officiating. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery.
