Obituary
A.C. Babbitt Stricken on Dwight Farm
Albert C. Babbitt, 66 of rural Detroit Lakes, Minn., died unexpectedly Friday while working on the Albert Stevenson farm in Dwight township. Death was caused by a heart attack.
The funeral will be at 2 Tuesday in Schmitt-Poulton Chapel in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Phil Sheridan, Oliver Hanson, Ingvald Olson, George Hanson, Reuben Luckason, all of Detroit Lakes and Albert Stevenson of Abercrombie.
Mr. Babbitt was born July 30, 1892, in Fulton County, Ill. He worked in Chicago for a railroad before moving to the Wahpeton area where he farmed. In 1933, he moved to Detroit Lakes vicinity. He stayed there five years, going then to LaMoure County in North Dakota and in 1943 returned to the Detroit Lakes vicinity.
He married Lucille Meadows in 1917 at Galeburg, Ill.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Lee of Detroit Lakes, Richard in the Navy at Corpus Christi, Tex., and Claire of Roger City, Mich.; two brothers, Jesse of Wahpeton and Homer of Los Angeles and a sister, Mrs. Glee (Forine) Keeple of St. Augustine, Ill. Mrs. Harry Grinager of this city is a niece.
