Obituary
Emil C. Bartl
Services for Emil C. Bartl, 75, Breckenridge, will be at 10:30 Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Stanley Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. He died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation is Tuesday afternoon and evening at Vertin's of Wahpeton East Chapel and Wednesday at the church for the hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 Tuesday at the chapel.
Emil C. Bartl was born Sept. 4, 1903 at New Ulm, Minn., to Frank and Anna (Preisinger) Bartl. As a child he moved with his family to Stirum, N.D. He attended Stirum schools and grew up there.
He married Mattie Wolff Sept. 10, 1930 at Britton, S.D. The couple lived in Waukesha, Wis. for several years before moving to Lidgerwood in the early 1940s. The couple moved to Breckenridge where he worked for Western Fruit Express and later as a carpenter. He also worked as a church custodian for eight years.
Survivors include his wife; four sisters, Mrs. John (Angela) Eberhard, Breckenridge; Mrs. Ed (Viola) La Bounty, Stirum, N.D.; Mrs. Joe (Alida) Amerman, Forman, N.D.; Mrs. Willia (Madeline) Minnaert, Gwinner, N.D.; two brothers, Edward, Duluth, Minn.; and Frank, Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Honorary casketbearers are John Kalash, Walter Wendeline, Ray Giddings, Lloyd Donnan, Adolph Kub, Harold Samuelson, Robert Devine.
Active casketbearers are Gerald Pankow, Richard Kosel, John Samuelson, Delbert David, Norman Hanson, and Beryl Osmondson.
