Obituary
Lena Bohn
Mrs. Alfred (Lena) Bohn, 82, Wahpeton, formerly of the Great Bend area, died yesterday at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, the Rev. Ernest L. Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation at the chapel until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and an hour prior to the service at the church.
Lena Medenwalt was born May 27, 1897 in Brightwood Township near Hankinson, the daughter of William and Emma (Kreuger) Medenwalt. She attended schools in the Hankinson area, and married Alfred E. Bohn Nov. 15, 1916 at Hankinson. They farmed in the Great Bend area, and moved into Wahpeton in 1947 where she worked at Wahpeton Laundry and in the Science School's laundry department. She retired in 1969.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Leila) Engel, Minneapolis; Mrs. Ray (Donna) Bohn, Wahpeton; Mrs. Randall (Andrea) Pawley, Concord, Calif.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nick (Erma) Her, Jesup, Iowa; Mrs. Clarence (Selma) Holthusen, Hankinson.
She was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and three sisters.
