Obituary
Halvor Carlson Dies on Sunday
Halvor Carlson, Wahpeton farmer, passed away at 4:45 a.m. at the Wahpeton hospital after a long illness. Funeral services are to be conducted on Wednesday from Bethel Lutheran church here with Rev. P. A. Gisvold officiating. The body will lie in state at the Vertin Funeral Chapel here until the time of the funeral.
Mr. Carlson was born in Oslo, Norway, October 29, 1870, and came to western North Dakota in 1906, and to Wahpeton vicinity in 1920, where he farmed until 1934 when he was forced to retire because of ill health. He was married at Orje, Norway to Inga Marie Einarson in 1895. His wife precedes him in death. Mr. Carlson was confirmed and baptized in the Lutheran faith in Norway.
He is survived by his children; Mrs. William Dubkee, Mrs. Marie Noran, Vernon and John Carlson, all of Kelso Wash., and Mrs. Hilda Boumont, Mrs. Esther Aadland, Olaf and Calmer Carlson, all of Wahpeton. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
