Obituary
Mrs. Carter was born in Springfield, Vt., Nov. 24, 1918, She united with the Methodist Episcopal church when about 19 years of age, and remained a consistent and devoted member of that body during the remainder of her long and useful life.
In Aug. 31,1847, she united in marriage with Rev. Ira Carter, and ever manifested a true Christian spirit under the trials and hardships which usually fall to the lot of an itinerant minister'e wife.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Carter has been blessed with the presence of four children, two sous and two daughters. Of these, the oldest son, Edmud H., with his wife is now living, in this city; the other son, Albert J., with his wife recently located at Felchville, Vt.; one daughter, * Mrs. Q. К.. Persons, resides at Cambridge, Mass.; the other daughter, the wile of Rev. J. A. Strachan, who is located at Park River, was present and did all sho could to alleviate her mother's sufferings during the last weeks of her illness.
The high esteem in which this aged Christian woman was held, was indicated to some extent by the large attendance at the funeral and by the great number of choice flowers with which the casket was decorated.
While much sympathy is felt for the sorrowing friends, its special object is the companion who for fifty-four years has journeyed with her along life's rugged pathway,, and is now somewhat enfeebled under the weight of his fourscore and four years.
