Clark W. Childs
Funeral services for Clark W. Childs, 85, of Walcott will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Vertin's Wahpeton Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Rogers of Kindred officiating.
Mr. Clark died Sunday at the St. Francis Home in Breckenridge.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until time of service at Vertin's East Chapel, Wahpeton.
Clark Childs was born April 9, 1889, at Clarissa, Minn., to Eugene and Wilhelmina Childs. As a child, he moved with his parents to the Colfax area where he was educated in Nansen Township schools.
He married Nora Pearl Boyer December 9, 1906 at Colfax. The following year they moved to Moose Jaw, Canada, for nine years. They then returned to the Walcott-Colfax area where they engaged in farming before moving into Walcott in 1968.
Mrs. Childs died in 1969 and Mr. Childs continued to live in Walcott until three months ago when he entered the St. Francis Home.
Survivors are two sons, Veryl and Eugene of Walcott; and one daughter, Florence (Mrs. Hurthue) Tarr, Amarillo, Tex.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest, and two sisters, Allie Rigg and Sybil Risheck.
