Obituary

Mrs. Childs Rites Tuesday

Funeral services will be held at 2 Tuesday in Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel for Mrs. Clark (Nora) Childs, 81, of Walcott who died Friday at St Francis Hospital. Mrs. Childs has been hospitalized since last May. The Rev. C. Lewis Miller of Kindred will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at Wahpeton. Organist will be Miss Geraldine Nelson and vocalists will be Archie Isackson and Ardell Bakko.

Pallbearers will be Elwood Boyer, Milo Ista, Sigvard Walberg, Rodell Lee, Larry Childs and Martin Heyen.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday until time of service.

Nora Pearl Boyer was born July 11, 1888, at Hinton, Iowa, the daughter of William and Florence (Dinges) Boyer. The family moved to Walcott when she was a child. She was married to Clark Childs Dec. 9, 1908 at Colfax. In 1909, the couple moved to Moose Jaw, Canada, where they lived for nine years and then returned to Walcott to farm. They moved into Walcott last spring. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church near Walcott.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Veryl and Eugene, both Walcott; a daughter, Mrs. Hurthune (Florence) Tarr of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Ella) Ista of Walcott; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
