Thomas J. Cleary Dies At Home
Services For Conductor To Be Friday
Funeral services or Thomas J. Cleary, will be conducted from the Vertin Funeral Home in Wahpeton at 2 Friday afternoon. The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen will be in charge. Rev. John Axtman will speak Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
Born July 26, 1885, at Petersville, Iowa he was married to Jennie Rice, Jan. 21 1913. He passed away Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at his home in Wahpeton. He leaves his wife and son Loren T. Cleary, also at home. He is also survived by a brother William Cleary, of Cass Lake, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. George Beck of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Winnifred Hogan of Breckenridge and Mrs. Henry Engebretson of Breckenridge.
Mr. Cleary, who was a conductor on the Great Northern came to Breckenridge with his parents in 1903. He started work on the Great Northern in 1906. He was a member of the Wahpeton IOOF lodge, vice president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a member of the Conductors’ Protective association.
Honorary and active pallbearers will be members of the BRRT. The body will lie in state at Vertin Funeral Home, Wahpeton, until the time of the service.
