Obituary

Libbie Collier-1920

DEATH OF MRS. COLLIER Mrs. Collier, a well known resident of Wahpeton for many years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Chezik, on 9th St., Saturday morning, after a five day illness from influenza.

Mrs. Collier was sixty-three years of age. She was born at New London, Wis., and came to Wahpeton some seventeen years ago where she has resided ever since.

Funeral services were held in the Masonic hall Monday afternoon, the Christian Science service being conducted by Miss Bertha Bauer. Burial was in Fairview cemetery. A profusion of beautiful flowers at the funeral showed the esteem in which the departed one was held by relatives and friends.

Deceased is survived by an only daughter, Mrs. Henry Chezik of Wahpeton; with whom she made her home; three brothers, John, George and Solomon of Wisconsin, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Richardson, of Wadena.

Mrs. Collier, during her entire residence in Wahpeton, worked as a seamstress, at times conducting an establishment of her own, and at times sewing at the homes of her patrons. During that time she had become acquainted with nearly every family in the city, and there were none who could say anything but good of her. She was admired by all, and her place in the scheme of things in Wahpeton will be hard to fill.
Mrs. Collier was a member of the local M. B. A. Lodge.
