Frank J. Cox, Wahpeton, Dies Suddenly Thursday
Funeral Services Held Monday for Well Known Railroad Man
Frank J. Cox Wahpeton railroad man died suddenly Thursday at St. Francis hospital following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Congregational church and burial was in the Fairview cemetery in the family lot. Masonic services were conducted at the grave. An escort for the Commandery was in attendance as were the Odd Fellows and Railway Trainmen.
Mr. Cox was born June 12, 1884, at Delavan, Minn., and moved with his parents as a child to Woonsocket, N.D., where he lived until 1906 when he came to Wahpeton. He was married to Avis Sleeper in 1913. His wife died December 9, 1942.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ella Steffens of Northfield, Minn., and Maybelle Cox, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and a brother, Charles of Wessington Springs, S.D. Mr. Cox was a member of Wahpeton Lodge No 15 A. F. & A. M. of Wahpeton Chapter No. 26, R. A. M. and Wahpeton Commandary No 11, a member of Wahpeton Lodge No. 10, I.O.O.P. Order of Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, No.324 of Breckenridge, and to the Order of Railway Conductors.
