Walter Dahlgren Dies Wednesday In Minneapolis
Rites Saturday For World War Overseas Veteran
Funeral services for Walter Dahlgren, oldest son of the late Oscar Dahlgren and Mrs. Dahlgren, who died Wednesday in the Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis, will be held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the Methodist Church in this city.
The former Wahpeton man, who had resided in Bemidji the past seven years, was 45 years of age. He was employed by Leach & Gamble Company while here and had managed a grocery store in the Minnesota town.
He entered the armed service in June 4, 1918 and served in France from August 1918 to February 1919 being with the Seventh French Army on the Alsace Front. Upon his return from France he again located in Wahpeton and on June 4, 1922 was married to June Beach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Beach. He is survived by his wife and three children, a son Robert and Jack Dorothy Sansom, and nine brothers and sisters.
Also surviving is his mother and nine brothers and sisters: Oscar and William of this city, Charles, Mrs. Lee Henderschott, of Minot, Mrs. Don Fisher, Wadena, Mrs. Leo Hoffman, Spokane, Mrs. T. J. Gilliespie, Grand Forks, Mrs. August Olm, Two Harbors and Mrs. Edwin Score of Colfax.
The body will lie in state at the Schmitt & Olson chapel until the hour of service.
