LIFE’S THREAD BROKEN.
The Life of Mrs. S. E. DeLong Peacefully Ended Saturday Morning.
Saturday morning about 1 o’clock brought on the sad end friends had been driven for some time to expect and dread, and the sweet spirit of Mrs. DeLong took its flight. She had for a long time been afflicted with bronchial difficulty. This in its last form, tuberculosis, caused her death. The end was quiet. The wife and mother recognized and spoke to each individual of the family, and remained conscious until the end. Georgie Anna DeLong was thirty-eight years of age at the time of her death. She came to Wahpeton from Akron, Ohio, in 1883 with her newlywed husband. Her years here were years of quiet, unassuming devotion to her family. While not very active in social circles, she yet won the warm regard of all, and her sweet sincerity will long live in the memory of many friends.
The funeral took place from the Congregational church Tuesday morning, Rev. G. B. Barnes delivering the address, and the Odd Fellows attending in a body. Beautiful flowers from friends and relatives at a distance who were able thus only to mutely express their sorrow and sympathy, lay on the coffin. Interment was made at the new cemetery.
