Obituary
Mrs. Donaldson Found Lying on Studio Floor
Mrs. Ida Donaldson, pioneer Wahpeton business woman, is critically ill in St. Francis hospital following a fall in her home Thursday night. She tripped and fell during the night and was found the next day by Allen (Bud) Torgeson, when he took her dinner in from Bud’s Café. She suffered a broken right hip.
Past 80 years of age and in a severely weakened condition, little can be done for her at the institution, other than routine hospital care.
She came to Wahpeton as Ida Ponath and started a photographic studio, winning prizes for her portrait work during the years. She married the late Charles Donaldson and he joined her in the business. They built the studio on Dakota Avenue where she has made her home through the years.
