Obituary
Mrs. Bernard Drier, Breck, Dies; Rites Held Today
Mrs. Bernard (Hilda) Drier, 71, Breckenridge, died Friday afternoon in St Francis Hospital. She had been ill since February.
Funeral services were this afternoon (Monday) at Vertin’s Wahpeton Funeral Chapel, Rev. Walter D. Elmer officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Hilda Drier was born April 8, 1894, at Great Bend, the daughter of Carol and Albertina Popp. She attended school in Great Bend and was confirmed in the Evangelical United Brethren Church. She was married to Bernard F. Drier on Dec. 24, 1915.
Following their marriage, they lived in Wahpeton. Mr. Drier, who was employed by the railroad, died in 1948. She then moved to Breckenridge. Sine 1952, she lived with her daughter in Breckenridge.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Barney (Frances) Olson of Breckenridge; two brothers Harry and Howard Popp, both of Pismo Beach, Calif.; two grandsons; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 11, 1948, parents and a son, Dennis in 1952.
Organist was Mrs. Donald Gripentrog and Rev. and Mrs. Walter D. Elmer vocalists.
Serving as pallbearers were Anton Gripentrog, Arlie Schultz, Harvey Loll, Donald Gripentrog, Morris Worner and Allen Popp.
Vertin’s Wahpeton was in charge of arrangements.
