Obituary
Rosa W. Deede, 93, Wahpeton, died Thursday, Jan. 2, at St. Francis home, Breckenridge. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home and at the church prior to service. There will be no prayer service.
Rosa Reinke was born July 11, 1892, at Wahpeton to John and Emma Reinke. She was raised and educated in Center Township, rural Wahpeton. She married Diedrick C. Deede Oct. 30, 1912. They farmed at Warwick, N.D., Dumont, Minn.. before moving to Center Township, Wahpeton, where they farmed. In 1949 they moved into Wahpeton. Her husband died May 29, 1962. She continued to live at Wahpeton until 1980 when she moved to St. Francis Home.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a charter member of Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She had been a news reporter for the Farmer Globe in Center Township for many years. She was also a member of the Center Township Sunny Circle Homemakers Club.
Surviving are one son, Robert E. Deede, Wahpeton; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin K. (Novella) Erickson, Fargo; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two brothers and one sister.
