Mathilde Dorsch
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Monday a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton for Mrs. Christ (Mathilde) Dorsch, 79, of this city. She died unexpectedly Wednesday at the home of a daughter in Tacoma, Wash. Rev. Edward J. Rutter will officiate.
Mathilde (Ehrens) Dorsch was born in Germany Nov. 15, 1893. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany and was married there on Dec. 25, 1918. She and her husband continued to live in Germany for five years, coming to the United States and settling near Wahpeton in 1923.
They farmed in the Dwight, Abercrombie and Colfax area before moving into Wahpeton in 1944. Her husband, an employee with Otter Tail Power Company, preceded her in death on June 29, 1969. She continued to live in Wahpeton. She was a member of Immanuel Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Valdon (Gladys) Stargel, Tacoma; two sons, Hans of Minneapolis and Henry of Pomona, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Toni Nielsen of Luck, Wis.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Vertin's Wahpeton are handling arrangements.
