Obituary

Mrs. John Dierks Dies Thursday At Home Here

Mrs. John Dierks, 68 died early Thursday morning at her home in this city. Funeral services will be held from Immanual Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens later. Friends may call at Schmitt-Poulton Funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.

Mary Heinecke, daughter of the late Henry Heinecke, was born Oct. 1, 1888 at Appleton, Minn. At the age of eight her parents moved to Sisseton, S.D., where they farmed. She was married May 12, 1907 to John Dierks. In 1923 they moved to Wahpeton where he was employed by the great Northern railway until his retirement in 1953.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Heinecke, of Harold, S.D., by her husband, two sons, Frederick and Ervin of Wahpeton and seven daughters; Mrs. Melvin (Anna) Larson, Breckenridge; Mrs. Oscar (Agnes) Schaunaman, Sisseton; Miss Minnie Dierks and Mrs. Leonard (Evelyn) Pedde, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Lester (Mary) Burg, Hopkins, Minn. There are five brothers, John, William, Herman and Henry Heinecke of Sisseton and Albert of Redwood Falls, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Fred Ebberbach, Harrold, S.D.

There are ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
