Obituary
R. H. Ellis Dies At Fargo Hospital Saturday Morning
Funeral Services To Be Conducted Tuesday Morning at 11 a Fargo
R. H. Ellis, Fargo, former Wahpeton resident, died at Fargo Saturday. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Ellis, of Wahpeton and the brother of Shirley Ellis, of Wahpeton. Funeral services are to be conducted at Fargo at 11. He was well known in Wahpeton. Death was due to heart trouble. He had been employed as construction foreman for the Fargo branch of the Standard Oil company since 1913. He died at a Fargo hospital where he had been confined since February 7. A World War veteran, Mr. Ellis entered service at Wahpeton March 29, 1918, serving overseas from June of that year until Aug. 30, 1919. He was discharged in September. Previously he had served six years with Company I, first North Dakota infantry. He was a member of Gilbert C. Grafton post, American Legion, the Yeoman lodge and Calvary Evangelical church.
He was born June 8, 1888, at Manistee, Mich. Besides Mrs. Ellis and two children, Donna Rae and Merritt Hayden, he leaves three sisters, Miss Shirley L. Ellis, Wahpeton; Mrs. Hazel E. Hamer, Great Falls, Mont., and Mrs. Eleanor Sonneman, Harlowton, Mont. The body is in the Merril Moore funeral home.
