Obituary
Mrs. Oscar Elo, 81, Wahpeton, Dies; Rites Held Today
Mrs. Oscar (Maren) Elo, 81, Wahpeton resident for 40 years, died in a local hospital Monday.
Funeral services were held today (Thursday) from Bethel Lutheran church. Rev Loyal F. Golf officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery.
Born in Oslo, Norway, Mar 12, 1882, Mrs. Elo emigrated to Aberdeen, S. D. and was married there in 1909. They resided at Aberdeen and Groton, S. D., and Ellendale, N.D., before coming to Wahpeton and operating a tailor shop until retiring. Mr. Elo died in 1959.
She leaves a son, Maurice, Huntington, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. T. H. (Margaret) Golberg, Fargo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Elo was a resident of the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center for many years and was the first resident of the Center following its completion.
