Obituary
Mrs. A. Engle Dies Monday In Hospital
Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur Engle, who died Monday at St. Francis hospital, were held this afternoon from the Seventh Day Adventist church. Rev. J. M. Merson officiating.
Bessie Marian Engle was born Dec. 31, 1890 at Foley, Minn., daughter of Lester and Henrietta Lewis. She grew to womanhood there attending school. She was married to Arthur Engle at Sauk Rapids, Minn., in 1921.
They came to this area and farmed south of Wahpeton. They moved to Wahpeton in 1928. Mrs. Engle has been an invalid for many years. Her husband died in 1955.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rex Pearson, of Breckenridge, and five grandchildren. There is one sister, Mrs. Michael Dropps, Swatara, Minn., and brother, A. L. Lewis, Portland, Ore.
Pallbearers were Alvin Buck, Elmer Smith, Palmer Pederson, Marvin Pearson, Adolph Tetzloff and Jay Johnson. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
