Obituary
Althea Erickson
Services for Mrs. Oscar (Althea) Erickson, 89, formerly of Wahpeton, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin L. Hartmann officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. Mrs. Erickson died Sunday at Kankakee, Ill.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at the chapel.
Althea Ulsaker was born Nov. 27, 1889 at Wahpeton to Mr. and Mrs. O.K. Ulsaker. She graduated from Wahpeton High School and the University of North Dakota. She taught in North Dakota High Schools before marrying Oscar Erickson on June 17, 1914 at Wahpeton. The couple lived in Rugby, N.D. where he was a municipal judge. He died Oct. 24, 1972. She then moved to Illinois.
Survivors include three daughter and two sons, Mrs. Reece (Ruth) Ayers, Bourbonnais, Ill., Mrs. L.A. (Margaret) Bayley, Walla Walla, Wash., Mrs. F.C. (Dorothy) Hubner, Garfield, Wash., Richard, New York City, N.Y. Wally, Fresno, Calif., 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
