Obituary
Aslaug Evenson
Funeral services for Aslaug Evenson, 85, Wahpeton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Mooreton Lutheran Church. Rev. Kenneth Nyhusmoen will officiate. Mrs. Evenson died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Vertin's Wahpeton west chapel. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Mrs. Evenson was born June 23, 1888, at Krjukan Telemark, Norway, to Ole Rollag and Aase Tvete. She came to Moorhead, Minn., in 1909 and attended Concordia College. She taught parochial school at Dwight, N.D.
On Oct. 28, 1912, she married Helmer Evenson at Dwight. The couple farmed near Mooreton until retirement in 1954 and then lived at Battle Lake, Minn. Her husband died in 1968. A daughter also precedes her.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Adeline) Beeson, rural Wahpeton; Mrs. Charles (Irene) Campbell, Fairhope, Ala.; Mrs. Russell (Doris) Langseth, Bloomington, Minn.; two brothers, Ole, Whitehouse, Canada, and John of Norway; three sisters, Aaste Rollag, Mrs. George Henmo and Mrs. Anna (last name unknown), all of Norway.
