Obituary
Esther Evenson
Mrs. Harry (Esther) Evenson, 91, Wahpeton, formerly of Redwood Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, (Jan. 10) at St. Francis Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday prior to the services at Vertin's.
Rev. Kenneth Nyhusmoen will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Esther Mae Carter was born Dec. 21, 1887, at Columbus, Ohio, to Freeman and Elizabeth (Thomas) Carter. She was raised in the Columbus area and attended local schools.
She attended business college in Columbus and worked as a legal secretary there. She married Harry Evenson on Dec. 22, 1914, at Columbus and they moved to Sacred Heart, Minn., where her husband was a veterinarian for many years.
In 1968 the couple moved to Redwood Falls. She was a member of Sacred Heart Eastern Star for many years.
Mrs. Evenson was preceded in death by her husband, who died Jan. 13, 1978.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers are Lars Ole, Ralph Beeson, Victor Radig, Edward Radig, Steve Roskos, Russell Langseth, Oliver Evenson and Raymond Evenson.
