Obituary
Edward Ferguson
Funeral services for Edward Ferguson, 90, of Wahpeton will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wahpeton with Rev. Stanley Mueller officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Mr. Ferguson died Friday morning at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home chapel. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
Edward Ferguson was born September 19, 1884 to Moses and Wilhelmina (Phielke) Ferguson. He was raised and attended schools in the Abercrombie area where he farmed until his marriage.
He married Ellen Bradford November 29, 1922 at Breckenridge. They have lived in Wahpeton for the past 50 years where he was self-employed until two years ago when he retired.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ralph of Wahpeton and Vernon of Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Audrey) Lord of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Theodore (Eileen) Alverson of Cottage Grove, Minn.; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, James, of Rialto, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Dora) Martin of Breckenridge and Mrs. Albert (Irene) Marten and Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Berseth of Wahpeton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Floyd; a daughter, Irene; four brothers and two sisters.
