Obituary
Services for Mrs. Melford Flaa To Be Friday
Mrs. Melford J. (Clara) Flaa, 63 died Tuesday evening in an area hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 Friday in the Bethel Lutheran church. Rev. Loyal Golf officiating. Vocalist will be Lyle Jacobson. Organist, Mrs. Vernon Hektner. Prayer service will be held Thursday (today) 7:45 p.m. at Vertin’s Wahpeton Chapel by Mr. Donald Fossum. Mrs. Flaa was born at Walcott, N.D., Dec 27, 1900. She attended Valley City State College and taught at Walcott, Lidgerwood, Golden Valley and Ellendale, N.D. She was married in Moorhead Aug. 26, 1927. They lived at Breckenridge for two years and came here in 1929 where they had been since.
She was a member of the Bethel Ladies Aid, Bethel Choir and the Rebecca Lodge of Wahpeton.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Charles, Moorhead; Raymond, Madison Wis., and Gary, Grafton, N.D.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Harry Lahren, Williston N.D.; Arnold Lahren, Walcott, and Horace Lahren, Wahpeton.
And six sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Ann) Bjerkager, Abercrombie, N.D.; Mrs. Hilda Sundby, Covina, Calif; Mrs. E. T. (Agness) Johnson, Fargo; Mrs. Clark (Irene) William, New Rockford, N.D.; Mrs. Ernest (Edith) Rydell, Fargo; and Mrs. Walter (Nina) Carlson, Mooreton.
Pallbearers will be Virgil Lee, Bayard Lewis, Wm. Sturma, Emil Vallagher, Clarence Roseth and Jack Nolan.
Vertin’s Wahpeton Funeral Home is in charge arrangements.
