Body of Local Man Found in River Saturday
The body of a Wahpeton man was taken from the Red River shortly after noon Saturday.
Richland County Authorities believe the body of Roman “Ray” Forman, 59, had been in the water several hours before a boy spotted it floating in the water.
Wahpeton firemen recovered the body 75 to 100 feet north of the bridge between Wahpeton and Breckenridge.
Forman lived alone near the river. He had been in ill health for a time.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., from Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel, the Rev. Ro Reed of Valley City officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery. Roman Forman was born May 25, 1962, at Wahpeton. He lived in Akron, Ohio for a number of years before returning to Wahpeton in 1947. He was employed as a man of general work.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Anna Forman, Akron Ohio, and two sisters, Mr. Joseph (Nellie) Van Sickle, Akron, and Mrs. Alta Heine, St. Paul. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Forman, and one sister, Mrs. Roy (Anna) Reed, Valley City.
