Obituary
Dr. G. L. Wiltse and Dr. M.E. Beltz flew to Minneapolis Sunday morning to visit Ray Funfar who is a patient at the Veteran’s Hospital at Fort Snelling. They were accompanied by Mrs. Funfar, who remained in the cities. Dr. Wiltse and Beltz returned the same day.
Mr. Funfar has been hospitalized for 30 days and had undergone major surgery. He had planned to be home for Christmas, however, he took a turn for the worse about the time he planned to leave the hospital, according to Dr. Wiltse. He is undergoing further tests at the present time.
Mr. Funfar is employed at the Wahpeton Clinic.
Services Held Sunday for Raymond Funfar
Funeral service was held here Sunday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for Raymond A. Funfar, 32, of Wahpeton who died Thursday in the Veteran’s Hospital at Ft. Snelling, Minn.
Mr. Funfar, office manager at the Wahpeton Clinic, had been ill for several weeks. The body was placed in Fairview Cemetery mausoleum here with Vertin Funeral Home, Wahpeton, handling arrangements. Pallbearers were Drs. W. H. Wall, E. R. Wasemiller, M.E. Beltz and Glen Wiltse; Donald Nash and Henry Swenson.
He was born Nov. 6, 1922 at Lidgerwood and was graduated from high school there and from Wahpeton State School of Science. He entered the Navy in Dec., 1942, receiving his discharge in March, 1946.
On June 30, 1946, he married LaVerne Lang at Cleveland, N. Dak. They came to Wahpeton in January 1947,
Surviving are: Mrs. Funfar; a daughter, Linda Rae; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Funfar, Henning Minn., and a brother, Adolph Jr., of Henning. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
